Stardraw Design 7, the new system design/documentation tool from industry-leading software provider Stardraw.com, is to make its full US debut at InfoComm 2012. First unveiled at last year's InfoComm in a beta format, the release application has been significantly enhanced with a number of new features and services, including Stardraw.com's first Cloud service.
Stardraw Design 7 is Stardraw.com's seventh-generation software solution for systems integrators. Drawing on nearly two decades of market experience, and exploiting the latest in software technologies, the application offers audio and video system designers/installers unparalleled speed, ease of use and task-orientated functionality in a modular package which will enable integrators to custom configure the software to suit their particular requirements and budget. Users also have access to over 55,000 symbols from over 600 manufacturers, representing the industry's largest high quality symbols library.
The application allows you to design AV projects containing all the information and data relating to the products in those projects. Using smart, task-orientated drawing environments you can document the entirety of your project, including cabling and interconnections using the Block Schematic module, customer-facing presentations using the Pictorial Schematic module, custom metalwork using the Panel Layouts module, and with the Rack Layout module you can show high detail front, side and rear views of your 19" racks. A key advantage of this approach is that each 'view' is a representation of the central project database, and a change in one view ripples through to all of the others. A multi-tab interface means that all drawings are accessible at the same time, with each drawing on its own tab, while the Project Dashboard gives you a master view of the whole project.
Other new and improved features include compatibility with the latest versions of AutoCAD and Visio as well as a built-in PDF-generator. There is also a new User Defined Product wizard which allows you to create your own custom product records with all associated symbols and data. All User Defined Products (UDPs) can now be synchronized seamlessly across all of the computers used to run Stardraw Design 7 thanks to Stardraw.com's new Cloud service which automatically stores and backs up all UDPs to the Cloud with five times redundancy. With the Synchronize UDP service active, which is free to all holders of a current subscription, you have instant access to all of your current UDPs on any computer. Furthermore, the service is infinitely scalable; there is no limit to the number or size of UDPs that can be stored online or on the number of computers that can be synchronized.
A brand new, faster and easier drawing interface is packed with many requested features including grab/pan, wireframe dragging, arrowheads, improved image support, setting of multiple Cable Labels in a single click, and automatic Title Blocks to name but a few. As a standalone project design/documentation system, Stardraw Design 7 has all the tools you need to design, price and document any AV system more quickly, comprehensively and professionally than ever before.
